Did Oyegun Shun Tinubu's Birthday Intentionally?
I walked round the auditorium looking for him, but the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr John Oyegun, was nowhere to be found.
Whether he avoided the 66th birthday celebration of the National Leader of the party, Senator Bola Tinubu, intentionally is something I could not confirm immediately, but he could not have been anywhere else when the President is attending the occasion.
The event, which is being held at the Eko Expo Centre, was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.
A good look at the list of persons attending the event, also shows that some other top members of the APC were absent.
The Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Speaker of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara, were not in the auditorium.
Ten governors of the APC were at the event.
Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, that of Bauchi, Jigawa, Edo, Sokoto and Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, were at the event.
The former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, Minister of Solid Minerals, Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, were also present.
Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo, were also at the occasion.
Business mogul, Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola, Jim Ovia, Pat Utomi also attended the event.
The former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, is also at the event.
It was his first major public appearance since he was removed unceremoniously last year due to allegations of breach of public service rule.
Mr Oyegun and Senator Tinubu have had disagreements over his position as the Chairman of the party and recently, the President said Mr Oyegun tenure extension was illegal.
