Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor has been omitted from the list of athletes to compete in Saturday’s IAAF Diamond League in Shanghai, China.

Okagbare is being omitted despite putting up a blistering display in the first leg of the Diamond League last Friday in Doha, Qatar

The name of the Nigerian record holder in 100m and 200m was missing in the provisional entry list released Monday by the IAAF.

This is the third consecutive year, Okagbare will be missing in action in the Far East even though she has enjoyed some glowing moments in Shanghai and indeed China.

Okagbare’s golden moments in Shanghai came in 2014 when she ran 22.36 seconds to win the 200m event and leapt 6.86m to win the long jump event.

In 2015, the University of Texas graduate was in blistering form again this time over the 100m, running 10.98 seconds to win ahead of USA’s Tori Bowie and Michelle-Lee Ahye of Trinidad and Tobago.
