Delta State has won the 3rd edition of the National Youth Games in Ilorin with 20 Gold, 23 Silver and 24 Bronze medals.

The closing ceremony for the Games holds on Saturday in Ilorin, Kwara state with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung and Presidents of all National Sports Federations expected to attend.

The event holding at the permanent site of the University of Ilorin will also witness the handover of newly discovered talents to the various National Sports Federations for proper monitoring and development.

The Talent Identification Committee was set up by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Its members include: grassroots coaches, ex-internationals and technical officials who have been mobilized to search and identify young athletes who will be given intensive training ahead of next year's Africa Youth Games in Algiers and the World Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The week long Games which is the 3rd since inception, featured over 5000 athletes from 31 states.
