Newly appointed David Moyes on Sunday lost his first game in charge of West Ham 2-0 to Watford.

The former Manchester United and Everton boss has attributed the defeat to complacency from big players whom he expected to give more.

Two goals from Will Hughes and Richarlison condemned West Ham to relegation zone with nine points from 12 matches.

An unhappy Moyes said big stars must justify why they have such reputation.

"I always thought this was a big job. Some big players with big reputations disappointed me a lot.

"I thought they would show me more. They need to show me why they have got that reputation.” Moyes said.

"I don't enjoy the performance and I expected us to do better. We tried to stay in the game and give ourselves a chance - and we probably did - but overall it was not good enough."

The victory took Watford to 8th spot on the table, with 18 points from 12 games.
