14 days after her mates were released by Boko Haram, Leah Sharibu, still remains in captivity.

This has been a source of worry to her family and other well meaning Nigerians.

Her mother Rebecca Sharibu has decided to seek spiritual assistance by attending a special prayer session for her daughter’s release in Abuja.

“I have lost sleep since the abduction of my daughter. Some of the parents whose daughters were released have since put the incident behind them, but my case is different.

“I am still in pains and I want to appeal to our President to do everything within his powers to ensure the release of Leah. Her continuous stay in the hands of Boko Haram will affect her greatly,” she appealed.

Leah’s father, Sharibu Nathan, welcomed the prayer session and appealed to the Federal Government to facilitate the timely release of Leah who he lamented was going through turbulent times.

Another family source said the prayer was organised by some Christians who promised to continue to intercede for Leah until she regained her freedom.

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria,  Rev. Samson Ayokunle, had last week directed Christians across the country to pray for the release of Leah at Easter.
