Danny Welbeck understands it is not going to be over between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid after the Europa League semi-final first leg, even if they win.

A positive result is nevertheless important to give them a "clear mind" going into the second leg away from home.

The game, and most likely many more arsenal games would be overshadowed by the news of Arsene Wenger’s departure at the end of the season.

Any fears about the future, considering how Manchester United crumbled after Alex Ferguson?

Welbeck believes these are two different clubs with different approaches and “hopefully we can face that in the right way and then move forward in a positive way”.

Regarding Arsenal’s chances of winning the Europa League and giving Wenger a glorious farewell, the England forward is positive.

“It will be an icing on the cake to see the manager lift the trophy,” he said, adding that all the lads are determined to win.

Wenger was, however, modest regarding that, saying he is not out to look after himself alone. He just wants to keep doing his best and that is to win the next game.

Seriously? No dream of a fairy tale ending?

“Is there a perfect goodbye? I don’t know. I just want to do as well as I can because this team is quality, I have seen these guys face challenge and seen them respond in a positive way.

“So, I just think this group of players deserve something special, and in fact, I want to do it for them, to achieve something with them,” he said.
