The man, identified as Christian locked himself in a room and hung himself with a rope on Saturday.

The cause of the suicide is yet to be ascertained but it was gathered that the deceased was suffering from depression.

44 year old Christian, who was not married, was residing with his brother before he was recently transferred to Lagos.

The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said the deceased's brother works as a barber, had gone to his shop when the incident occurred.

When he arrived from work, he noticed the apartment was unusually quiet which prompted him to force the door open because it was locked from the inside.

Sabo adds that “... exhibits recovered include some drugs and a knife."
