Cult War: College Student Dies In Osun
Cult war in Osun State has claimed the life of one student of the Osun College of Technology (OSCOTEC).
The student was killed during a clash between two rival cult groups in Esa-Oke, the Police Command in Osun said on Friday.
A statement by the spokesperson of the Command, Folashade Odoro, said a fight broke out between the two groups – Alora and Eye confraternity, at about 10 a.m. on Thursday.
Odoro said in the ensuing fight, one Sunday Opeyemi, a student, was shot dead in his house and his girlfriend brought out his body to the school gate.
She said the matter was reported to the police and that police officers immediately visited the scene of the crime.
So far, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, but the police spokesperson said those arrested were not students of the institution.
To check the situation, police personnel are presently on campus.
The Commissioner of Police in the state has also ordered discreet investigation into the matter.
