Cultism activity is now on the rise at the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti as rival cult groups in the institution continue to trail each other.

During one of such inter-cult wars, a student of the institution, Ayodele Temilade was allegedly hacked to death in the early hours of Monday.

The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Samuel Oye-Bandele who confirmed the incident, said the student was killed at Irasa area of the university community.

He explained that the identity of the student had yet to be ascertained, adding that he had directed security groups of the school to investigate the matter.

Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Alberto Adeyemi, who also confirmed the incident in a telephone chat explained that investigation has commenced to bring the perpetrators of the act to book.

Another student of the institution, Ojo Samuel Segun was also killed on Monday, October 23 at Osekita area of the institution.

As at the time of filing the report, the cult groups concerned are yet to be unraveled.
