Coutinho Begins Barcelona Career From The Bench
Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho has kicked off life at his new club Barcelona.
Coutinho started his Barcelona career on the bench on Thursday for the Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg tie against city neighbours Espanyol at Camp Nou.
The 25-year-old, who signed for 160 million euros ($194 million) from Liverpool, had seen his debut delayed due to a thigh injury.
Barcelona are looking to overturn a 1-0 defeat by Espanyol in the first leg.
Coach Ernesto Valverde named captain Andres Iniesta, back from injury, in the starting lineup.
Meanwhile, Colombia centre-back Yerry Mina, signed from Brazilian side Palmeiras for 11.8 million euros ($14 million), joined Coutinho on the bench.
