The body language of Thibaut Courtois is suggesting that he is closer than ever to the exit doors at Stamford Bridge.

While Victor Moses and the rest were sweating it out, Courtois was absent from training again on Tuesday as he continues to hold out for a late summer move to Real Madrid.

The Belgian goalkeeper was expected back to training with the Premier League club on Monday, having been given an extended break following his exploits at the World Cup in Russia.

But while international team-mate, Eden Hazard has returned to the Blues this week – despite also being linked with a move to the Bernabeu – Courtois stayed away.

And he was missing for the second day running on Tuesday, as the team continued their preparations for their Premier League opener against Huddersfield this weekend.

Reports suggest Courtois has decided to stay in Belgium while his future is resolved, having travelled back to his homeland to celebrate the Red Devils’ bronze-medal finish at the World Cup.
