Court Remands Hair Stylist For Assaulting Policeman
A 23-year-old hair stylist, Comfort Ishukwu allegedly assaulted a policeman.
The defendant, who resides at No. 1, Orile-Agege, a Lagos suburb, is now facing a two-count charge of breach of peace and assault at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Nomayo Kenrich, told the court that Comfort committed the offence on Jan. 18, on Orile Road, Agege, Lagos.
According to him, the defendant assaulted one Sgt. Okpanachi Nicodemus while he was on duty, by biting him on the left side of his mouth, following a disagreement.
So, what kind of disagreement makes a woman bite a man in the mouth?
Well, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge and the Chief Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje, has granted her a bail of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum.
But she would be remanded in Kirikiri Prisons, pending when her bail conditions would be met.
She said the surety should be gainfully employed with an evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
Kubeinje adjourned the case until March 21 for hearing.
