Court Reinstates Oye As APGA National Chairman
Victor Oye was sacked on May 22 through an order of mandamus granted by Justice A.R Ozoemena of the Enugu High Court.
Ozoemena declared Martin Agbaso as the National Chairman of the party and ordered the police and the Independent National Electoral Commission to recognise Agbaso in all their dealings.
But the Anambra High court has reinstated Oye as the authentic chairman of APGA and described Agbaso as an impostor.
The court presided over by Justice Dennis Maduechesi described the actions of Chuks Achusi and the national working committee of APGA, who participated in the meeting that purportedly removed Oye as chairman of APGA, as “null, void and of no effect.”
The court said that only the national convention of the party could remove the chairman or suspend him.
