A Kaduna State High Court has issued an arrest warrant against the Chairman of Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Muhammed Isah, for contempt over his failure to testify in Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s asset declaration suit.

The suit, No: KDH/KAD/286/2015, is between El-Rufai and Today’s Publishing Company Limited, publishers of The Union newspapers.

El-Rufai had sued the newspaper, claiming it made false publication about his asset declaration.

However, the warrant issued on Friday by Justice Mairo Mohammed of Court 2, sitting in Kaduna, ordered the Police to arrest the CCB Chairman for his failure to honour different summons of the court on the matter.

Justice Mohammed granted the approval based on the application filed by Counsel to The Union Newspapers, J.N. Egwuonwu (SAN), during the continuation of defence at a previous sitting.

Egwuonwu represented by Hiifan Andrew Abuul had written an application to the court to subpoena CCB to tender the asset declaration of the Governor before the court.
