Another corruption suspect has been given a clean bill of integrity by the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja.

The court dismissed the 18-count corruption charges preferred against Justice Adeniyi Ademola, his wife, Olabowale.

They were arraigned by the Federal Government on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy to receive gratification in various ways, contrary to Section 8(1)(a) of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Act 2000.

In his ruling on the no-case submission, Justice Jude Okeke held that the prosecution did not provide enough evidence against the defendants.

Okeke advised that the prosecution should carry out proper investigation before suspects are arraigned. He also described the process as a waste of tax payers money and the court's time.

Ademola was among the 7 justices investigated after the sting operations carried out on October 8 and 9 by the Department of State Security.

This is another setback for the Muhammadu Buhari led anti-corruption campaign after the sudden disappearance of convicted former Governor of Adamawa state, Bala Ngilari.

He was granted permission by a court to receive medical attention in Dubai after he was sentenced to 5 years in prison for stealing public funds.
