CHILDREN'S DAY HORROR: Court Remands Man For Alleged Raping 11-Year-Old
Stranded 11-year-old Faith thought that Ukpai, her aunt's neighbour, was out to assist by providing shelter for her.
Faith had visited her aunt but met her absence, as a result, went to her aunt’s neighbour.
Ukpai, 36, in the guise of hospitality, served Faith rice to eat, an opportunity he used to defile her.
He has been arrested and charged to court.
Abakaliki High Court 1 has remanded Ukpai Okoronkwo, a 36-year-old man for defiling an 11-year-old girl identified as Faith Vincent.
The incident took place in his house at Oso Edda in Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Bounce News gathered that the alleged rape occurred on Sunday, May 27th, which was Children's Day, when Faith who has been staying with her grandmother, visited her aunt who put to bed.
When she arrived her aunt's house, she was not at home, so she decided to wait for her in her neighbour's house, whose family happens to be a family friend to her aunt and mother.
A source revealed that the accused Ukpai who is married with three children, welcomed Faith into his home and served her rice which she ate.
Unfortunately, she was defiled in the process of eating the rice and in the presence of the accused one-year-old daughter.
Bounce News learnt that three days later, the young Faith narrated her ordeal to her aunt, who in turn told the girl’s mother and accused was arrested.
The suspect has been remanded in prison after an application of bail was denied. The case has been to Monday 6 August, 2018 for further hearing.
