Child Molestation Claims Have No Effect On R Kelly's Record Sales
Jada Pinkett Smith isn’t happy with the fact that R. Kelly’s streams and music sales have increased since the premiere of the series ‘Surviving R. Kelly’.
The actress shared a video on Instagram wondering how R. Kelly’s streaming numbers have spiked.
“How is it that R Kelly's music sales have spiked (substantially) since the release of the docuseries Surviving R Kelly? I need some help in understanding. What am I missing?" she asked.
According to artiste manager, Kaycee Oguejiofor, young people who did not know R. Kelly while they were growing up are trying to listen to his music to form an opinion about the singer.
"The risen the sales of R Kelly's music is experiencing a spike in sales is because a lot of young people in their 20's who were either not born or too young, are listening to his songs.
"So, they want to form an opinion about the legendary musician. Things might change, sales might eventually drop. Who knows?" Kaycee explained to Bounce News.
Singer R. Kelly’s songs sales have increased in the past few days despite the Lifetime docu-series Surviving R.Kelly, which aired few days ago to unravel the child molestation scandal the artiste was involved in.
This comes after Spotify had back-peddled on their decision to remove R. Kelly’s music from the platform’s playlist.
