EbonyLife Films’ 'Chief Daddy' closed 2018 with a record-breaking finish.

The movie grossed an astounding N235,469,368 - the highest box-office total for a Nigerian film in 2018 and the third-highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.

The Niyi Akinmolayan film overtook 'King of Boys' and squeezed past 'Merry Men', the 5th and 4th on the list of highest-grossing films, into third place behind 'The Wedding Party' and 'The Wedding Party 2'.

This makes EbonyLife films the producer of all three movies at the top of the all-time box office chart.

In 2018, the top 3 movies of the year broke the N200 million barrier; 'Chief Daddy' grossed N235,469,368, slightly passing Ayodeji 'AY' Makun ’s action comedy, 'Merry Men' that posted N235.2 million by the end of its run, and Kemi Adetiba's 'King of Boys' making over N220 million.

'Chief Daddy' is off to a bright start for 2019, with revenues over N14 million on New Year’s Day, taking it to N250,260,945 in total.
