The home-based Super Eagles have arrived from Morocco where they took part in the 5th edition of the African Nations Championship tournament.

The Nigerian delegation landed in Lagos at about 4.am Tuesday morning via a direct Air Maroc flight from Casablanca.

It is understood that the Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, who watched the team live in Casablanca will later on Tuesday host the team to a befitting reception.

He praised the commitment of the team against all the odds even as they set a new record to reach the final.

The CHAN Eagles stand to receive N90 million for their second place finish at the tournament which ended in Morocco on Sunday. 

The CHAN Eagles finished behind Morocco, after suffering a 4-0 spanking at the hands of the hosts and being first runners-up, they will get $750,000 as prize money from CAF, with the NFF promising to give them 30% of the sum. 

This is beside the match bonuses they have received for going all the way to the championship game in Morocco.
