The home-base Super Eagles have overtaken Libya at the top of the standings in the Group C of the CHAN tournament following a hard-earned 1-0 victory on Friday.

After their unimpressive group opener against Rwanda on Monday, the Eagles were aware that only a win will be be good enough to keep them in contention in Morocco.

Though it wasn't the best of performances, the coach Salisu Yusuf tutored side did enough to get all the three point from Friday's game.

Sunday Faleye was the hero; scoring the all-important goal in the 79th minute as the Eagles secured maximum points.

Nigeria are now occupying top spot in Group C with four points from two games.

They will face Equatorial Guinea in their final group game as they look to seal their place in the quarter finals.
