Alex Iwobi and his Arsenal teammates were almost dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Norwich City on Tuesday.

Iwobi, who was missing when Arsenal nailed Everton 5-2 over the weekend, was back in the starting lineup for the Gunners.

However, his presence and even that of Olivier Giroud who on Monday won the Puskas Award counted for less as Norwich almost grabbed victory.

It was Arsenal academy product, Eddie Nketiah, who came off the bench to score twice and rescue his side a 2-1 extra-time win over Canneries in the EFL Cup Round of 16 tie.

The Gunners were heading for a first home defeat to lower-league opposition in this competition since November 1983.

Fortunately, Arsene Wenger turned to his young wildcard with six minutes of normal time to play.

The 18-year-old forward did not disappoint as he canceled Josh Murphy's strike by netting from close range with his first touch, before heading an extra-time winner.
