The Madagascar Football Association President, Ahmad Ahmad who is seeking to unseat Isah Hayatou as CAF president has arrived in Nigeria.

Bounce News gathered that Ahmad is heading to Abuja in company of the Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick  to see the Minister for Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung and Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Hayatou has been at the helm of CAF since 1988 and is seeking an 8th term.

Building his campaign on the change mantra, Ahmad has called on other federations to support his bid.

Already, the NFF president has been told to use his 'discretion' to vote for either candidate.

Meanwhile, the candidature of Pinnick as one of the CAF executives has received the blessings of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Pinnick says CAF needs a new generation of leaders following the change at the helm of FIFA. He has advised both candidates to adopt open door policy and allow fresh ideas to be considered during decision making at CAF.

The CAF elections are scheduled to take place on March 16, 2017.
