Things are not going the way of Nigerian clubs in the prestigious CAF Champions as the country's other representative, Plateau United have also be sent packing from the competition.

While MFM were mauled on a 7-2 aggregate scoreline by MC Alger, Plateau United did give a good fight but there best was just not good enough.

Plateau United actually won Sunday' second leg First Round tie by a lone goal scored by Tosin Omoyele, but it was inadequate to see the Nigerian champions progress to the money-spinning group phase of the CAF Champions League.

Having lost 4-2 in the first leg, Plateau United were edged out on a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.

Just like MFM FC,  Plateau United will now wait to see who they will be facing in the second-tier CAF Confederation playoffs.
