Rivers United paid dearly for not coordinating their defense in a CAF Confederation Cup game on Sunday and consequently lost 2-1 to KCCA.

The Ugandan side went ahead in the 15th minute through Derrick Nsibambi after a complete dominance of action.

Rivers United however equalised through Bolaji Sakin's well taken strike In the 33rd minute to take the game into half time at 1-1.

After the break, Rivers United continued from their improved performance since scoring the equalizer until the 71st minute when Masiko Tom's freekick went past an uncoordinated Rivers United defense.

The ball arrived at the waiting feet of Nsibambi who fired into an empty net to complete his brace and seal a 2-1 victory.

The loss means Rivers United have just three points from a possible nine after three games, while KCCA have six points after three matches.
