Rangers began the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup campaign on a rather bright note by defeating Salitas FC 2-0.

Rangers, the home team, took a first half lead through skipper Godwin Aguda, to show their intention of going for victory as early as the 2nd minute.

The Nigerian team doubled their lead on the hour mark when Isaac James Loute’s freekick could not be stopped by the Burkina Faso side’s goalkeeper Sawadogo.

Both sides had few chances afterwards, with Rangers the better side, but no more goal was scored as the score ended 2-0 in favour of Rangers.
