Fans of MFM FC will no more enjoy continental football, at least not in 2018.

This is because the Nigeria Professional Football League club, MFM FC, has been knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup by their Malian opponent, Djoliba.

MFM held their own to force their opponent to a goalless draw in the play-off tie at the Modibo Keita Stadium in Bamako on Wednesday, but a first leg defeat at Agege Stadium did the damage for the Lagos side.

Djoliba advanced to the group stages with a 1-0 aggregate score, ousting the less experienced Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored side.

Only Enyimba qualified for the group stages among four Nigerian clubs, with Plateau United and Akwa United the other sides that crashed out.
