BUSTED! Political Thugs Caught By Security Operatives In Osun , Pistol Recovered
There has been more drama and crime related incidence for the upcoming Nigeria general election with different stories of fake INEC ready made election papers to political thug fights and other political crime stories.
In a recent development, Troops of the Nigerian Army attached to Operation Safe Conduct, created for the 2019 General Elections, have arrested three suspected political thugs in the Ilesa area of Osun State and recovered a pistol with three cartridges.
The suspects were rounded up around 7.30am on Tuesday at Iwajara Junction, Ilesa, while allegedly planning to disrupt the Saturday Presidential and National Assembly elections
Bounce News gathered that, the hoodlums, whose names were not given, were on a motorcycle and armed with dangerous objects as they mobilized to visit a rally of one of the political parties in the Ilesa-East Local Government Area to disrupt the event.
Other weapons recovered from the hoodlums included one cutlass and three cartridges.
The suspects have been handed over to the police for further interrogation and prosecution.
Osun State has been in the news following the series of political violence ahead of Satursday's elections.
The leadership of the Osun State chapters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have lately engaged each other in a war of words over alleged violent attacks on their supporters in some parts of the state.
Both parties have called on the Inspector General of Police, Director of SSS and the Civil Defence to stop political attacks on their supporters.
