Buhari's Minister Accused Of Hijacking APC Congress Committee
The crisis rocking Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) may be far from an end.
The two factions in the party held parallel ward congresses in all the 171 electoral wards across the state on Saturday.
One of the leaders of the party in the state and the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu allegedly hijacked the seven-man committee sent by the National Secretariat of the party to monitor the exercise in the state.
He was said to have diverted the committee led by Ajayi Nicholas to Enugu where names of ward executives were written and submitted to the team.
Onu had earlier been accused of hijacking the delegate list for the state.
Ben Nwobasi, Chairman of the party in the state, who made the allegations, expressed disappointment that the committee absconded while the exercise was going on in the state.
He said however he had reported the alleged malpractice of the congress committee to the party national secretariat that directed the congress to go on and the report submitted to them.

"If you remember the last time we did delegate congress, it was the same thing that happened. They went to Nkwegu Ugbala and wrote the names. But on our side, what we did was to send our men to the voting point.
"Our men are already doing the job in the field across the 13 local government areas and across the 171 wards.
"And we are pleading with the press to report the truth because without you, they will be no democracy in the country. We sincerely believe with you that you can shapen democracy in the country.
"The hijack is by no other person other than the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonna Onu.
"But God has never allowed them to do that and they will not succeed in all their evil plans. I have not lost hope because the people who are managing the congress at the national level have assured us of that we should do our congresses and report to them that they will accept it without delay", he stated.
