A week after former Vice President Atiku Abubakar resigned his membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, another senior member of the party has dumped the party.

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed said he is leaving the APC because the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is incompetent and corrupt.

Baba-Ahmed was a member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 and later senator under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in 2011.

The former lawmaker also said the APC administration lacks principle and vision and came to power without any concrete plan.

He said he is returning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where 80 percent of APC members are from.

Baba-Ahmed on Thursday informed the chairman of Tudun Wada ward in Zaria Local Government Area of his decision to leave the APC.

Baba-Ahmed, who owns Baze University, Abuja is rumoured to be eyeing the Kaduna State governorship seat in 2019.
