President Muhammadu Buhari is expected in Katsina State on Wednesday enroute to Daura, his hometown, for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The President is expected to land at the Umaru Musa Yaradua International Airport by 3pm and thereafter use a presidential chopper to Daura, his country home.

The state governor, Aminu Masari, has taken to Twitter via: @GovernorMasari to welcome the President to the state.

Buhari had earlier on Wednesday led his first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in five months after receiving medical treatment abroad for an undisclosed illness.

The President returned to Nigeria from London last week, but has been working from home after complaining of a rodent infestation in the presidential office.

He skipped last week’s FEC meeting which was cancelled without explanation.

Wednesday's cabinet meeting took place after Buhari met members of the national women’s basketball team who triumphed at the AfroBasket tournament in Mali last week.
