There are indications that the President may summon the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami and the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau.

The most popular name in political circles this week, Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, is the bone of contention.

Reports suggest that the report which the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita submitted on Tuesday to the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, provided some clues warranting other explanations by Malami and Dambazau.

The President had on Monday in a memo to Oyo-Ita demanded a full report of the circumstances of Maina’s recall and posting to the Ministry of Interior.

It was gathered that Maina’s reinstatement was done without recourse to the President.

Oyo-Ita had in her response to the memo claimed that Maina’s reinstatement and subsequent posting did not originate from her office.

Oyo-Ita’s claim contradicts statements made by Dambazau who had while absolving himself of complicity blamed the office of the HoS.

Dambazau had in a statement on Sunday claimed that the wanted man was posted to his ministry by the HoS a few day ago to fill a vacancy.

Malami and Dambazau are to be summoned based on new facts presented by Oyo-Ita in her response.

The duo are to explain their roles in the whole saga.

They are likely to be summoned when the President returns from Niamey, Niger Republic.
