President Muhammadu Buhari will host the silver winning Super Eagles at the presidential villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

After several postponements, the team will now have a date with Nigeria’s number one citizen.

Led by coach Salisu Yusuf, the Eagles, for the first time qualified for the final of a Championship for African Nations (CHAN) tournament but conceded the trophy to host Morocco in February 2018.

Buhari, who himself took time out to watch the team on television, was impressed with their performance despite not winning the cup.

A top source told Score that there will be a reception for the team at the presidential villa on Wednesday.

Nigeria reached the last four of the CHAN in South Africa four years ago, but they failed to go past the group stage in Rwanda in 2016.
