The president's Chief of Staff has been handed a detailed report of circumstances that led to the reinstatement of former Chairman of the defunct Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Abdulrasheed Maina.

The Special Assistant to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina confirmed that the report has been submitted.

Speaking on Channels Television on Monday night, Adesina said the report was submitted to the president’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari, as directed.

The Head of Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita was reported to have submitted the report at close of business on Monday.

The spokesman has earlier confirmed that the former pension boss has been disengaged from the civil service by president Buhari.

“PMB orders immediate disengagement of Mr Abdulrasheed Maina from service. Asks for full report on circumstances of his recall.” He tweeted earlier on Monday.

Maina, who has been declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, is on the run for an alleged N2 billion fraud.

After receiving the report, Buhari is expected to take decisive action against those who have a hand in the reinstatement of fugitive Maina.
