It is the desire of many children to embark on excursions with their colleagues.

Sometimes when the parents disapprove of it or refuse to fund for the trip, they cry and continue to hold grudges for as long as they possibly can.

For 21 students and teachers of Government Day Junior Secondary School, Misau, Bauchi state, they were the lucky ones.

They had travelled to the venue, enjoyed themselves, and on their way back with excitement and ready to share their experiences with classmates and friends tragedy struck.

They are dead.

The bus conveying the victims collided head-on with an articulated vehicle along Kano to Gaya road in Kano state, resulting in the death of 11 male and 10 female students, as well as their teachers.

The painful incident has made the President mourn the death of 21 students who lost their lives in their quest for knowledge.

The students and three teachers died on Tuesday.

The President has also sent his condolence to the Government of Bauchi State over the death of their students and teachers of Government Day Junior Secondary School, Misau, Bauchi state.

The President prayed that Allah accepts the souls of the deceased and forgive their sins.
