Buhari Is In High Spirit, Will Be Back Soon - Osinbajo
It was a day's journey to London and back to Nigeria. The wonders of air travel abi!
The Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, had embarked on the journey on Tuesday and returned in the early hours of Wednesday with what he considers good news for Nigerians.
He says Buhari is recuperating fast, in high spirit and will be back soon.
Although no specific date was given for his return from the journey he embarked on May 7, the Acting President says he is in good shape.
Professor Osinbajo had earlier said he would brief Nigerians on the outcome of his meeting with the ailing president.
Before the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting began on Wednesday, he made out time to brief reporters on his one-day journey.
"Expect the President back in no time," he said.
“As you know, I went to see him to check up on him, to find out how he was doing.
"I had of course been speaking to him on the phone and I thought it would be a good thing to go and see him and to check up on how he was doing and also to brief him on developments back at home.
“We had a good time. We had a very good conversation on wide ranging issues.
"He is in very good spirits and he’s recuperating very quickly and he is doing very well," the Acting President added.
Alleged Plan To Take Over Presidency
His visit came a day after the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, also said her husband (the Lion King) would come back soon.
Her comment was a response to a statement by a Senator, Mr Shehu Sani, whom had alleged that some persons referred to as Hyenas, predators and jackals were scheming to take over the presidency, wishing that the ailing leader will not return.
But the wife of the President said: “God has answered the prayers of the weaker animals, The hyenas and the jackals will soon be sent out of the kingdom".
There are rumours of a plan to unseat the Acting President, which were authenticated by the Senator in his claims, but one former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory has asked Nigerians to leave him out of such plans.
'Look at my hands, they are clean' he seems to be saying, as he exonerates himself from any plan to remove Professor Osinbajo from his position.
