President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday met with a delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the South-East.

The closed-door meeting took place inside the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting started at 12:40 p.m. when the President arrived the Council Chamber venue of the meeting.

The 100-member delegation was led by the Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu.

Those in the delegation were – former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, Senator Andy Uba and former Ebonyi State Governor, Martin Elechi.

Others were – former Governor of old Anambra State, Jim Nwobodo, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, former Minister of Labour, Emeka Nwogu, Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Eze Madumere, Senator Nkechi Nwogu, Senator Chris Adigije and Senator Mark Wabara.

The delegates during the meeting with Buhari affirmed their endorsement for him contest the 2019 election.

After the meeting, Onu told journalists that they were happy with President Buhari’s performance.

He, however, implored the President to link the region with the ongoing rail line projects in the country.

He also assured that the party is working hard to win elections in the region.
