This comes hours after the services became unavailable for millions of users across the world including Nigeria.

Within the period, users were unable to send or receive a Whatsapp message.

Users were also unable to view or update their Whatsapp status.

As at, 9 AM on Friday, most Nigerians reported not being able to send or receive message through the platform.

Many of them did flock to another popular social media platform, Twitter to confirm if others wee experiencing the same downtime.

This development came weeks after the social messaging service announced it will be launching a version for businesses and large enterprises.
