BREAKING: Senate Asks Buhari To Pay MKO, Kingibe Presidential Entitlements
The Nigerian Senate wants the president to complete his good deeds legally and fairly.
The Upper legislative chamber on Thursday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to pay all entitlements to Moshood Abiola and Babagana Kingibe.
The lawmakers requested that he back-dates the payment to 1993 to reflect their official status as President and Vice President.
The Senate has also asked the Independent National Electoral Commission to announce the full results of the June 12 1993 Presidential Election.
Recall that President Buhari, on Wednesday announced June 12 as the National Democracy Day in a move that has gained a flurry of reactions.
Members of MKO Abiola’s family, friends, relatives and supporters have all expressed their happiness with the decision.
Meanwhile, former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Alfa Belgore has described the president's decision to confer GCFR honours on Abiola as illegal.
