The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has declared his intention to become the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

His media aide, Olu W. Onemola‏ @OnemolaOlu tweeted this on Thursday, August 30, 2018.

Saraki made this declaration in Abuja during his meeting with the Not-Too-Young-Run Movement.

He also later posted the news on his Twitter handle: "I have decided to answer the call of teeming youth who have asked me to run for President. Accordingly, I hereby announce my intention to run for the office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

Its not going to be an easy ride for the Senate President, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress to the PDP.

He has political giants like former Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso; former Jigawa governor, Sule Lamido and a former Sokoto governor, Attahiru Bafarawa to drag the PDP presidential ticket with.

The interesting part is that many more PDP aspirants are only waiting to declare their intentions.
