Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar could not address thousands of PDP supporters who thronged the party' secretariat in Lagos to welcome him to the state on Monday.

This was due to the heavy downpour in Ikeja.

Atiku was in the state as part of his consultation ahead of the PDP presidential primary.

Bounce News correspondent, Lekan Oladeinde who was at the event reports that many of Atiku’s supporters who had thronged the secretariat as early as 6 a.m. were disappointed with the turn of event.

Security personnel had a hectic time before Atiku could be escorted out of the secretariat.

In fact, the police were said to have fired teargas at the suppoters.

Before the rain started Atiku had met and addressed party leaders and state Excutive members.

He urged them to deliver the state’s votes to him during the party' s presidential primary.
