22 days after they were inaugurated, they have been assigned portfolios by the Acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

The two new ministers are Stephen Ocheni (Kogi) and Suleiman Hassan (Gombe).

The Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, announced the development on his Twitter handle.

Ocheni was named Minister of State, Labour and Employment; while Hassan was named Minister of State, Power, Works and Housing.

“There are now two ministers of state in Power, Works and Housing ministries,” Akande said.

Main opposition party, People's Democratic Party had on Monday called the Acting President a 'figurehead.'

The party said Osinbajo cannot implement any executive decision unless he gets approval from ailing President Muhamamdu Buhari.

"The Acting President is not in charge of the country. He is not in charge of anything. This is why nothing is moving forward".

Spokesperson for the party, Dayo Adeyeye, said this on Sunday.
