What began as a normally slow business Saturday has transformed into an unforgettable day for relatives of the victim.

One woman, whose identity is to be made public, has died after she was hit by a stray bullet during clashes between rival groups.

Witnesses say peace and order were disrupted when loud gunshots were heard forcing people to scamper for safety.

The deceased was a laborer who was trying to make her way to the Old Garage park, where laborers usually converge and wait for would-be employers.

Unfortunately, she got caught up in a fight which was said to have started on Friday, near Dugbe Divisional Police station.

Some traders at the Ikirun/Ilorin Motorpark, explained that some thugs working in the park had beat up a transporter, who was relaxing at a nearby "joint" after returning from a road trip.

The assaulted man was said to have arrived the park early on Saturday with his own group in a reprisal attack.

State authorities have been deployed to the area to restore order while the corpse of the deceased has been deposited in a morgue.

Investigation is ongoing to arrest the culprits.
