Fifteen senators of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have defected into the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki made the announcement in a letter he read during plenary on Tuesday.

Notable among the defectors are Senator Dino Melaye of Kogi West Senatorial District and former Governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Others are Barnabas Gemade (Benue), Shaaba Lafiaji (Kwara), Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara), Abdulazeez Nyako (Adamawa) and Monsurat Sunmonu (Oyo).

Others are Usman Nafada (Gombe), Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna), Ibrahim Dambaba (Sokoto), Ubale Shittu (Jigawa), Isah Misau (Bauchi),Suleiman Nafiz (Bauchi), Soji Akanbi (Oyo) and Rafiu Ibrahim Kwara.

They attributed their defection to the current crisis rocking the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
