Taraba State has been thrown into mourning following the death of the kidnapped lawmaker, Hosea Ibi.

Late Ibi, the member representing Takum II Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, was found dead after he was abducted by gunmen on December  30, 2017.

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Darius Ishaku on Public Affairs, Emmanuel Bello, announced this on Monday.

The lawmaker was abducted by motorcyclists in Takum, Jalingo while going to his home town.

Three men riding on a motorcycle were said to have accosted the lawmaker and whisked him away to an unknown location.

The Police Public Relations Officer, David Misal, confirmed Ibi’s death on Monday in Jalingo, the state capital that the lawmaker’s corpse had been found.

Misal, who said the corpse was found at Kwari village, along Takum -Kashinbilla road,  Takum Local Government Area of the state, noted that the lawmaker must have died about three days before his body was discovered.
