There is tension in Abia state as thousands of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, members are heading to their leader’s home, Nnamdi Kanu in Umuhia, the Abia state capital.

The members are showing solidarity for their leader whose residence in Abia State is reportedly under surveillance by the military.

Armoured tankers were said to have been stationed in front of the residence of the IPOB leader.

The Nigerian Army had on Monday debunked reports that the residence of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nazi Nnamdi Kanu was invaded, resulting to the death of three people.

The denial came in a statement signed by the Assistant Director Army Public Relations 14 Brigade Nigerian Army, Major Oyegoke Gbadamosi.
