The attack was launched on Monday morning at Lawaru and Dong communities in Demsa Local Government Area (LGA).

Reports gathered say villages were burnt down.

But the degree of casualties is yet to be known as at press time.

Adamawa State has been a centre of several attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen and Boko Haram.

On December 1, 2017, Adamawa Police Command confirmed the death of four of its men in clash with gunmen in Numan Local Government Area.

Two weeks earlier, about 50 people, reportedly, Fulani women and children, were killed in Numan area by gunmen alleged to be Bachama militia.
