The Federal Government has opened the construction area at the Lagos-Sagamu end of the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway to commuters.

The Federal Controller of Works, Lagos, Adedamola Kuti, said on Tuesday morning that it was done to ease traffic during the festive period.

Kuti added that work will resume on the road as quickly as possible next month so that the contractors can maximise the dry season for the road construction.

“Construction works will resume in January,” he said.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command had in August announced that the Sagamu-bound carriage way on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway will be closed down for reconstruction work for a period of 18 weeks.
