Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose on Monday began his journey either to freedom or to the prison as he was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Ikoyi on an 11-count charge bordering on corruption.

Fayose was brought to the court by officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as well as officers of the Nigerian Police Force.

There was tight security as Fayose arrived the federal high court, Ikoyi in a White Toyota Hiace bus with an Abuja number plate: BWR-630AT, in company of officials of the EFCC and Police Force.

Among other things, Fayose was accused of benefiting from  N4.65b slush funds allocated by the Office of the National Security Adviser(ONSA)

After the charges were read, his counsel, Kanu Agabi moved a bail application for him.

The trial judge, however, failed to hear the application a development which means Fayose is likely to remain in detention.

Justice Mojisola Olatoregun adjourned the matter to Wednesday , October 24 to hear the bail application.

She subsequently ordered that Fayose should still be kept in the EFCC custody.
