The trial of a suspected kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly called Evans the 'billionaire kidnapper', has resumed. 

It is the first time he is appearing in court in the New Year and this time the case before the Lagos High Court in Ikeja, Lagos State, is being heard. 

Evans and five others arrived at the court premises in a black maria at about 9:00 a.m.

They came down with their hands cuffed and walked straight into the courtroom with heavy security presence. 

It is Friday and he is wearing a native attire. 

Evans and the other suspects are facing charges of conspiracy and kidnap of one Donatus Dunu.

The victim, who is the chairman of Maydon Pharmaceutical Ltd, was kidnapped in Ilupeju area of Lagos State on February 14 , 2017.

The case was adjourned on November 17, 2017 for continuation of trial.

A witness, Anselem Dunu, the elder brother of the victim had during the previous sitting of the court narrated to the court how is brother spent four months in the custody of Evans and his gang members. 

Evans' lawyer had after a hearing said his life was at risk of death.
