One week one trouble, is just one way to describe what is happening in Nigeria's National Assembly.

Since the defection of some members of the National Assembly, things have not remained the same around the complex.

Tuesday has become a day to remember for workers and lawmakers of the National Assembly, as officials of the Department of State Service (DSS) have taken over the National Assembly.

The lawmakers and staff have been denied access into the complex.

This is coming a day after it was reported that the leaders of the National Assembly have planned to hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday.

There are insinuations that the DSS may be action on orders targeted at stopping the meeting from holding.

It is a replica of what was seen some years ago, when lawmakers had to resort to jumping the gate to enter the complex.

The Senate has been on recess for the past one week, after several lawmakers defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Senate President also announced his defection from the APC a few days later.

Since the recess started, the Senate President has been under pressure to reconvene the Senate for plenary, with the Presidency saying there were some pending bills that, if not deliberated on and passed, would affect the running of the nation.

Will the lawmakers jump fence today?
